Back in 2016, David Flores created an amazing mural on the Museum of Art and History building in Lancaster, California, as part of the Pow Wow Antelope Valley initiative. This project added 57 vibrant murals to the downtown area, turning it into a colorful outdoor gallery.
These murals not only add beauty but also highlight Lancaster’s culture and creativity. Each mural has a unique story, making the city that much more interesting and engaging.
To protect the murals from weather and graffiti, Dunn-Edwards brought Vandlguard IsoFree after using it on multiple jobs before.
VandlGuard IsoFree is a high-performance, two-component, water-based aliphatic polyurethane coating. It’s designed to protect surfaces from harsh weather, UV exposure, corrosion, and the biggest enemy of any mural, graffiti. VandlGuard IsoFree is odorless, it doesn't yellow, and it's eco-friendly with zero VOCs. This makes the product safe for the viewer, the environment, and the applicator. Making it a perfect solution for these numerous murals.
This coating keeps the murals safe and looking great, ensuring they can be enjoyed for years to come.
This collaboration between artists, the community, and Dunn-Edwards shows how important it is to preserve public art. So, if you’re in Lancaster, take a walk downtown and check out these incredible murals. They’re a true highlight and a must-see!
