In Spokane Valley, Washington, Fire Station #6 took a proactive approach to protecting its brick exterior from the region’s wet climate. With constant exposure to moisture, the brick was at risk for water intrusion, surface staining, and long-term wear. To solve the issue, contractor Walter & Sons Paint Inc. applied Blok-Lok to seal the surface and lock out water damage.
Blok-Lok is a clear, breathable water repellent that works below the surface to stop liquid water from entering while still allowing moisture vapor to escape. This helps prevent common issues like efflorescence, staining, and freeze/thaw damage, all without changing the natural look of the brick.
It was the right fit for Fire Station #6, giving the building a layer of invisible protection that reduces maintenance needs and extends the life of the exterior.
Blok-Lok is UV-resistant, low-VOC, and non-yellowing, making it a reliable solution for public safety buildings that demand long-term performance. Now, with the help of Walter & Sons Paint Inc., Fire Station #6 is protected for years to come, rain or shine.
